Q. Circuit/Stadium Information?
A. Rod Laver Arena has been known as “Flinders Park”, the “National Tennis Centre” or “Centre Court”, the venue was renamed Rod Laver Arena on the 16th January 2000, in recognition of Rod Laver’s remarkable tennis career that saw him achieve the Grand Slam twice and cement himself as Australia’s and one of the world’s greatest ever male tennis champions. In terms of sport, tennis brought worldwide recognition for the venue. The Australian Open, one of only four annual Grand Slam Tournaments, has been held every year at Melbourne Park since 1988.

Q. Is Sportsnet Holidays an Official and/or Appointed operator?
A. Yes, Sportsnet Holidays is an Official Licensed Tour Operator for Tennis Australia.

TICKETS:

Q. Can I buy tickets without accommodation?
A. No, tickets must be bought in conjunction with accommodation.

Q. Can I buy the package without tickets?
A. Yes, the package can be bought without tickets.

Q. Are there concession and children’s tickets available?
A. Concession tickets are available for this event.

Q. What is the minimum age for a child to require a ticket?
A. Children two years and under are admitted free to the Australian Open but must be nursed on parents lap.

Q. Can I request where I sit?
A. Yes, however this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Q. Are there different standards of tickets? If so, what are they?
A. There are different standard of tickets from a Ground Pass, Margaret Court to Rod Laver Arena Reserved Tickets. Ground Pass and Rod Laver Arena tickets are included in our packages.

Q. Are the Grandstands reserved seats?
A. In Margaret Court and Rod Laver Arena it is reserved seating. All outside courts including Hisense Arena are unreserved.

Q. I have purchased a package. Why are my seats not the same for all sessions?
A. When you purchase a package we try and give you the best available seats for each session. This means that we cannot always supply the same seat for all sessions.

Q. What does a ground pass ticket offer?
A. A ground pass gives you full access to all outside courts including Hisense Arena where you will see a number of the world’s best players doing what they do best.

Q. What does a Margaret Court ticket offer?
A. If you have purchased a ticket to Margaret Court you will have access to a reserved seat within Margaret Court and access to all outside courts including Hisense Arena (subject to availability). You cannot access Rod Laver Arena with a Margaret Court ticket. Please note that a family pass is also available to provide even better value.

Q. What does a Rod Laver Arena ticket offer?
A. If you have purchased a ticket to Rod Laver Arena you will have access to a reserved seat within Rod Laver Arena and access to all outside courts including Hisense Arena (subject to availability). You cannot access Margaret Court with a Rod Laver Arena ticket.

Q. I want to see Roger Federer (or any other player), when is he playing?
A. The Australian Open is an elimination tennis tournament. Tickets are sold to sessions of the Australian Open, rather than to watch particular matches or players so it is not possible to purchase tickets in advance for a specific player. As it is an elimination tournament, a schedule for each day cannot be announced until the night prior. You can find the schedule and order of play on the Australian Open website – www.ausopen.com. Remember, the schedule and order of play is subject to change at any time. Tennis tournaments are at times unpredictable and unavoidable events can occur. It all adds to the thrill and suspense of the Australian Open.

Q. Do you have access to any Corporate Hospitality options?
A. Yes, we will have access to Corporate Hospitality once this has been released at a later date.

Q. Is there disabled access to the event?
A. Yes, however the seating is subject to availability. Disabled seating is only for people who are wheelchair bound. Clients who also have an Australian companion card can sit within the disabled seating. International Companion cards are not recognised and will only be able to purchase a normal ticket where we will try our best to seat you close to the disabled seating area this however cannot be guaranteed.

ACCOMMODATION:

Q. Can I request a hotel which is not listed on the Sportsnet Holidays website?
A. No, only hotels advertised on the website can be purchased. However if you require 5 or more rooms then we
may have a look at other options.

Q. Can I upgrade my room type?
A. No, we only have access to the room types listed on our website. However if you require 5 or more rooms then we
may have a look at other options.

Q. Is there a minimum night stay for the package?
A. There is a minimum night stay depending on what package you buy.

FUNCTION: Colonial Tramcar

Q. What package is the Colonial Tramcar included in?
A. Middle Weekend Package.

Q. Where do the tramcars depart from?
A. The tramcars depart from:
Tram stop #125 Normanby Road, near the corner of Clarendon Street, diagonally across the road from Crown Casino.

Q. Are the tramcars exclusive to Sportsnet Holidays guests?
A. Yes, the tramcars are exclusive to Sportsnet Holidays clients only.

Q. Are food and drinks included on the tramcars?
A. Yes, there is full breakfast including seasonal fruit, hot breakfast, accompaniments and bakery items. Sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beverages are also included.

Q. Is there a dress code?
A. Neat casual attire.

Q. Can I purchase tickets to the function only?
A. No, you may only purchase tickets to the function in conjunction with the Sportsnet Holidays package.

Q. Can I purchase the function and tickets without accommodation?
A. No, unfortunately the accommodation cannot be removed from the package.

Q. Can I remove the function from the package?
A. Yes, you may remove the tramcar from the package, however you will be required to make your own way to Melbourne Park.

Q. Is there a child rate available for the function?
A. No, however please note children must be over the age of 5 to travel on the Colonial Tramcar.

TRANSFERS:

Q. Are transfers included from the airport to my hotel? If so, what type?
A. No, transfers are not included. However if you have purchased flights with Sportsnet Holidays please speak with your expert consultant who can arrange these for you.

Q. Are transfers included to and from the Tramcar on Saturday 23rd January? If so, what type?
A. No, transfers to the Tramcar are not included in the package. You must make your own way to the Tramcar.

Q. Are transfers included from my hotel to the event? If so, what type?
A. No, transfers are not included to the event. All Australian Open ticket-holders are able to enjoy a free tram shuttle service operating on route 70 from the CBD to Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena. The service operates until one hour after the end of play. (To be confirmed by Tennis Australia). However on Saturday 23rd January, should you have the Tramcar included in your package this will take you to Parliament House and can then walk to Melbourne Park.

Q. What happens if I miss my transfer?
A. Do not miss it!

FLIGHTS:

Q. Are flights and pre-paid airfare taxes included within the package?
A. No, flights and pre-paid airfare taxes are not included in this package. Please speak to your expert consultant to organise flights for you. Alternatively you can book flights on our website www.sportsnetholidays.com

DESTINATION:

Q. What is the weather generally like at the time of the event?
A. Melbourne can experience 4 seasons in 1 day. It is best to pack for all weather conditions be it that it is summer and temperatures can reach into the high 30s.

DOCUMENTATION:

Q. How is documentation sent?
A. All documentation is sent via courier to your nominated Australian address approximately 1 week prior to the event. Please note no signature is required and the courier will leave your documents in a safe place should you not be home. You will receive a call prior to delivery to advise you of the estimated delivery date.

Q. Will I receive my event tickets?
A. Yes, your event tickets will be included in documentation couriered out to you approximately 1 week prior to the event.
