Soccer, Football, The World Game, The Beautiful Game (our favourite)… it doesn’t matter what you call it; Soccer is one of the truly great sports in the world. In terms of being a fantastic spectacle that everyone should go to at least once in their lifetime, a great soccer match must be right up there for ours here at Sportsnet. The pure elation that you experience when your favourite team *finally* scores after going scoreless in a 0-0 deadlocked match is hard to describe and can perhaps only be matched in intensity by the nerve racking minutes following the goal as the opposition team goes on an all-out assault to in a desperate bid to stay in the match.

The FIFA World Cup is the pinnacle of this great sport and always delivers contests that are memorable for so many different reasons. Just ask anyone who watched the Australia vs Japan match about their change in emotions as the Aussies went from almost succumbing to defeat to to 3-1 winners in the final 5 minutes of the match. However, maybe don’t ask about their thoughts on the Italy game which happened later on in the tournament…

      Hi Janelle, What a great end it was to the EPL part of our tour with Manchester United's win today. After Manchester we will be continuing on now with the rest of our vacation in the UK and Scotland. We just wanted to let you know that everything went smoothly with not even the slightest hiccup. We were very happy with all the hotels we stayed in and with their locations. The football tickets had great views of the games.       Val and I would like to thank both of you for the enormous contribution you personally made to the success of the World Cup tour to South Africa. I am sure you endured a few sleepless nights and anxious moments with a flock of 150 diverse and desperate football fans under your wings. Whilst you handled situations professionally and calmly, you remained at all times very approachable and reliable. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and given that Val was initially a reluctant participant due to concerns with security, at no stage was this fear realised. I am sure this was primarily due to the attention you and the Sportsnet team gave this aspect of the tour. Looking forward to catching up with you again at the Victorian reunion. Best Wishes.
